Sigma Xi is the national scientific research honor society. The object of the society is to encourage original investigation in science, pure and applied.

The fields of activity of the society are the pure and applied natural sciences. These include the physical sciences, the life and agricultural sciences, the earth sciences, the medical sciences, mathematics and engineering.

The John Deere chapter (#250) is in the Quad Cities. The urban core consists of five principle cities: Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and Rock Island, Moline, and East Moline in Illinois.

Virtual Fall Meeting - Oct. 18, 2020

The guest speaker for this meeting was Dr. Rohan Loveland, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Augustana College. The topic was
"The Farpoint Algorithm".

Virtual Spring Meeting - Apr. 29, 2021

New Member Induction. After the induction ceremony, the program consisted of a presentation by new member, Dr. AKM Raquibul Basher, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science, Augustana College. The title was "Statistical Model for Detecting the Probability of Severity Level of Hemophilia A".
